Wouter Mayeur, founder of Property Invest Blog, has lived in Berlin, Hamburg and Barcelona, and he now resides in London with his family. He shares his experiences investing in real estate in London and Montenegro, costs to move abroad, moving with children, and his plans for purchasing a condo in Thailand. Wouter and his wife, a Canadian-Hong Kong native, travel annually to Hong Kong with their two children, and Wouter has his eye on Shenzhen, China. In addition to Montenegro and Chiang Mai, Thailand, he recommends hidden gems and “underinvested” places to investigate in Europe, Asia and South America. His practical advice includes the nitty-gritty of assessing properties from afar, renting short-term or living in your home abroad, and the logistics of property transfer taxes, purchase and moving.
